Happy Holidays!

Our 2012 Xmas card should be well distributed by now, so its safe to ruin the surprise and unveil you this years design! Miraculously, this was actually completed with well enough time to be sent out before March, like last year. Happy late new year!

If it comes in a little dark, which most are saying, it is. For some reason when uploading it here to WordPress it comes in very dark, and you cant even make out the bricks in the background. If it is absurdly dark, this is a perfect time to recommend a GREAT product that all artists should at the least, consider. Its the Spyder 3. Basically its a neat little gadget meant for photographers, that you attach to your monitor and it basically reads the light in the room you are in, and translates that info to your computers color management. Simply put, it adjusts your color settings to the perfect settings based on where you are, all by it self.

We are having a baby!

If you didn’t know, my lovely wife Heidi is pregnant with our first child. At the same time, I needed something to animate, so why not reveal the gender of the baby with an animation!?

Animated Logo!

I have been wanting to animate my Logo for quite some time now, and I finally did it! I recently learned Flash, and its very fun getting back into the 2D animation world. Its totally different the 3D, and its really amazing how easy 3D is. You actually need to know how to draw in 2D! I have 2 links to the animation, one is in Flash SWF format, and one is in Quicktime.

As far as the details of the Flash go, there is a lot of frame by frame in the very beginning, and then lots of shape tweening with shape hints toward the middle of it.

Another day, another cartoon for the newsletter…

So this one was requested to illustrate members actually following the rules. Normally they are being blatantly broken. Is that route as funny as the negative way? No. I could have shown kids doing cannon balls into the hot tub or something else humerus, but this will still definitely get the idea across just the same. The whole idea of all these is so the Uclub can bring awareness of the club rules to the members via a cartoon.
